Koh’s Tour of the Oakhaven Hospice, Lymington
After opening Koh Lymington in December 2016, we stumbled across a great local cause – The Oakhaven Hospice.
Oakhaven Hospice was established in the late 1980s with the land and original building donated by Mrs Phoebe Coates in memory of her late husband. In 1992, the Duchess of Kent officially opened Oakhaven’s community-based service.
“Oakhaven Hospice Trust’s vision is to be an organisation offering innovative and highly respected specialist palliative care in partnership with others across the New Forest, setting standards to which others aspire.” – Our Vision, Oakhaven Hospice.
After a chance meeting with David Watson, Trusts & Business Support Fundraiser, we wanted to learn a little bit more about the work they do. So, we sent our Koh Lymington Managers, Rhea & Jordan with the team on an enlightening tour of the local hospice.
We were utterly inspired by the work that Oakhaven do. So much so that we wanted to invite their 20+ carers to our island escape for a little Koh respite treatment. David and the Oakhaven carers headed down to our local Koh Thai Tapas, Lymington for our Thai Tasting Experience and drinks all on us! A well-deserved retreat for a few hours and a little thank you from us on behalf of the community.
“On behalf of Oakhaven Hospice may I extend my thanks to your amazing team at your Lymington restaurant.
Rhea and Jordan brought their team for a visit to the Hospice on the 6 April and our Carers Group and I attended your Lymington restaurant on Tuesday 11 April. The meal was superb and the service was first class, we all enjoyed our experience at your wonderful restaurant.“- David Watson, Trusts & Business Support Fundraiser
At Koh, it is important to us all that we give a little back in the places that need it most. Each of our Kohs has one chosen charity that they hold close to their hearts. We continue to work with these charities throughout the year and support them however we can.
