Five Clues That Christmas is Coming…

It’s official, we can finally get excited that (in the words of the that famous Coca-Cola advert) “Holidays are com-ing, holidays are com-ing!”

Which leads us neatly into our first clue that Christmas is on the way…

1. The Coca-Cola Christmas Advert. The unofficial, official start of Christmas, as we all know it. The sight of a big truck, which – with all of its fairy lights, – never looked so appealing, nevermind festive. We eagerly await its first appearance on the box, most likely, during Clue 2…

2. The return of the X Factor. That’s right. Say goodbye to the Saturday nights that you’ve only just regained since the end of Love Island 2017. X Factor is back in September for three months!!! Which basically means, a three month countdown to the battle for the Christmas Number One spot. We also know that, without fail, this will see the appearance of Clue Number 3 at least once during the Semi-Final – AKA Christmas Week…

3. All we want for Christmas, is to hear Mariah Carey’s all time favourite Christmas song! (Or, ‘all we want’ is to hear it at least once and a very maximum of 22 times, before ‘all we wan’t is to avoid the song at all costs).

4. As we wave off Summer, we’ll start seeing the usual selection of advent calendars appearing on the shelves. Logic suggests, that if you can’t eat the first chocolate until December, you’d be best off not buying it until the 1st December to avoid the temptation. However, hindsight also suggests that by the 1st December – there is never a single calendar left.

Hindsight. What a beautiful thing.

So, here are two tips: 1. If you are buying one for someone else, such as a child or girlfriend – COMMIT EARLY. 2. If its for yourself, do what we did… Purchase 25 bottles of your choice (*Disclaimer: One for the over 18s; Always drinks responsibly, etc. etc.) and let the countdown begin… At least it lasts longer than one measley chocolate per day.

5. The Christmas Party is being booked! Hopefully, this year you’ll escape the “three courses for 15 quid” “shared-party” marlakey and the feeling of waking up the next morning with a sense of dred, regret and the subtle scent of shame.

Oh and how well that neatly leads us to the launch of our own Christmas campaign…
